What a pilot costs and what to expect

What the pilot price covers, product and shipping costs, creator fees, the make-good credit, when you see numbers, and what happens if a pilot doesn't sell.

What the pilot price covers

Pilots start from $1,500 and retainers from $2,500 a month. Your proposal sets the exact price for your scope before you sign anything.

  • The creators' fixed base fees for the videos in your proposal, each shown as its own line.
  • Creator shortlisting, written rate confirmation, briefs, and your approval of every draft before it goes live.
  • A tracking link and a discount code for each creator, and the disclosure check on every post.
  • Your reports: orders, Eligible Net Sales, average order value and cost per order, checked by our team.

Costs on your side

A few costs sit outside the pilot price, and your proposal lists each one before you sign:

  • Product: the units for your creators, at your own cost. You send the product to our US receiving partner at the address in your kickoff email. It is checked on arrival and forwarded to each creator once they have confirmed, so you never need a creator's home address. Oversize or fragile items ship straight from you to the creator, by exception and agreed in writing. Count the product at your landed cost when you read the results.
  • Forwarding postage: what it costs us to send the product on to each creator, passed through at cost (no markup).
  • A performance bonus, only if your agreement includes one: it is worked out on Eligible Net Sales and invoiced on top of the price, with the maths shown in your report.
  • Paid ads, only if you choose to run the videos as ads: the ad spend is your own money, paid to the ad platform, and reported in its own block.

Product handling

How we look after your product once it reaches our receiving partner:

  • We hold any leftover product for up to 30 days after the pilot ends.
  • Leftovers are returned to you at your cost, or destroyed if you ask us to in writing.
  • If product is lost or damaged while it is with us, we credit it to you at your product cost.

Creator fees

Every creator in your proposal has confirmed their rate and dates in writing before you see a price. Your proposal shows each creator's fixed base fee as its own line, and you pay it through your Fluenspire invoices, never to creators directly. A creator's fee is paid once their content is approved and your payment has cleared, and never later than 45 days after approval, even if the brand pays late, so creators are paid for work that is done and approved.

When you see numbers

A pilot runs about 30 days from the deposit clearing. A typical run:

  1. 1Week one: we forward your product to the creators and send their briefs.
  2. 2Week two: drafts come in for your approval.
  3. 3Week three: videos go live, each with the creator's own link and code.
  4. 4Then: orders arrive from your store every night once it is connected, and the end-of-pilot report is issued under Reports, with a PDF, after the pilot window closes.

Fast approvals keep the timeline: a draft waiting for review holds back that creator's post.

The make-good credit

Every standard first pilot includes the make-good credit. When the end-of-pilot report shows Eligible Net Sales below the pilot fee, and your side of the pilot was kept (deposit and balance paid on time, product sent to us on time, drafts approved on time, tracking link and code live, orders shared), we confirm a credit of 25% of the pilot fee. Your agreement states it.

  • It comes off your next pilot's balance invoice, or the first month of a retainer with at least half of that invoice still paid in cash.
  • It lasts 90 days from the day we confirm it, is used once, stays with your brand and has no cash value.
  • It is a service credit, not a refund and not a promise of any level of sales. You see it under Credits on your dashboard.

If a pilot doesn't sell

A pilot is a measured test, so a weak result is still an answer. You get the same report, counted by the same rules, with what worked, what didn't and our recommendation: other creators, another hook, another product, or stopping there.

Nothing renews on its own. A retainer only starts if you sign a new agreement for it. On a standard first pilot, the make-good credit applies as described above.

FAQ

Quick answers

How much does a pilot cost?

Pilots start from $1,500 and retainers from $2,500 a month. Your proposal sets the exact price for your scope before you sign anything.

Do we pay for the product and shipping?

Yes, at cost. You send the product to our US receiving partner at the address in your kickoff email. It is checked on arrival and forwarded to each creator once they have confirmed, so you never need a creator's home address. Oversize or fragile items ship straight from you to the creator, by exception and agreed in writing. Forwarding postage is billed at cost, with no markup. Your proposal lists every cost outside the price.

Are creator fees included in the price?

Yes. Each creator's fixed base fee is a line in your proposal, confirmed in writing by the creator before you see it, and you pay it through your Fluenspire invoices. A performance bonus, if your agreement has one, is invoiced on top.

When will we see the first numbers?

Videos usually go live in the third week. Orders arrive from your connected store every night, and the end-of-pilot report is issued after the pilot window of about 30 days closes.

What happens if the pilot doesn't sell?

You get the same report and our honest read on why. Nothing renews on its own. Every standard first pilot includes the make-good credit: if Eligible Net Sales come in below the pilot fee and your side of the pilot was kept, a credit of 25% of the pilot fee comes off a later invoice.
